Boundless Mercy
A Poem Inspired by Jesus' Parable, most commonly known as the Good Samaritan
We often draw lines— boundaries where our love begins and ends, hoping it will be kept safe, hoping it returns. We say: "Here are my limits, I cannot go farther." Our love is sealed and stored, reserved for the select familiar few. But the One— teaches a new way to endless riches: Break the bottle. Shatter such restrictions. Let it spill over those who least expect it. I have limits, you do too. But look around, even here. Our bruised world is starving for mercy. "Go," says the One. "Be merciful." And perhaps receive it from someone not so familiar. You'll need it too.
