Jeremiah 18:1-11, Psalm 1, and Luke 14:25-33
Reflections at the Potter's Table After Jer. 18:1-11. A curious invitation to the part of town where a potter is at work. There I stood— watched, unlike ever before. I was there a week ago. In a new way I saw how small I am. How fragile the soul, and the fleetingness of nations in the hands of the One who shapes here, now, and over again. I watched the hands— firm, moving with intention— shape, reshape, undo, new creation. God shapes not only by power, but in freedom that corrects, by mercy that disciplines, by grace that shapes another chance. --- Linger in Wisdom After Psalm 1. There is much debate. What makes a person flourish? So many answers possible. But turn down the noise of the others and hear: We flourish as we linger in Wisdom's waters. Here we grow tall like a tree soaking up the Stream's overflow. --- Costly Following After Luke 14:25-33. Jesus, I like to think you're kind, patient, easy to follow. But sometimes, you see through my desire to want many things. And you are not a thing among others. Remind me again that following you is my most costly decision. You are true treasure.
